Description:
Perennials. Leaves to 10 x 0.2 cm, linear, ciliate; ligule ciliate. Panicles terminal, branches slender, to 20 cm, contracted; spikelets linear-lanceolate, 1-flowered, purplish; callus bearded; glumes persistent, lower glume 5 mm, acute, upper glume 8 mm, acuminate, lemma lanceolate, 8 mm, 3 awned at apex, awns to 2 cm, palea 1 mm hyaline.
