  Description: Climbing undershrubs; stem hirsute. Leaves simple, alternate, 13-20 x 7-14 cm, broadly ovate, apex abruptly acuminate, base cordate, densely strigose above, tomentose beneath; nerves 7-13 pairs, prominent below; petiole 5-11 cm long, densely pubescent. Flowers in axillary few to many flowered cymes; bracts leafy, to 3 cm long, lanceolate, shortly petioled, persistent. Sepals 6-8 x 2-3 mm, oblong, obtuse, sparsely hairy, equal. Corolla 5-7 cm long, funnel-shaped, pale purple, hispid without. Stamens 5. Style filiform; stigma 2-globose. Berry 8-12 mm across, depressed-globose, yellow; seeds embedded in mealy pulp.
