Description:
Stout erect herbs. Leaves oblong-lanceate, 4-7 by 1-1.3 cm, base rounded or obtuse, margin stiff ciliolate, apex acute, hispid, thick-chartaceous; petiole absent or very short. Flowers dense in terminal panicles, glandular hirsute; calyx-lobes lanceate, pale purple, slightly ventricose. Capsule oblong-cylindric. Seeds small.
