  Description: Erect subshrubs, 1-1.5 m tall; densely pubescent, mingled with some erect gland tipped hairs. Leaves 6.7 x 5-6 cm, ovate to orbicular, deeply cordate at base, acuminate, margin coarsely crenate, tomentose below, stipules 0.5 cm, lanceolate. Flowers axillary, solitary; pedicel 2 cm; sepals 1 x 0.5 cm, ovate, acuminate; petals 1.5 x 1.5 cm, ovate, yellow with purplish centre, spreading; staminal column 8 mm; ovary to 5 mm, 20-25 celled. Capsule 1.5 x 2 cm, densely tomentose.
